The first new program was school uniforms. We were the first school in the district to go to school uniforms. I am a huge supporter in this change. It takes a lot of stress off of some of the social things at school. The Uniforms are not even that bad, blue polos (light blue or dark blue), and tan or black bottoms. This still allows for the girls to wear skirts and still lets them wear neckless's, hair clips and choose shoes.
The second major change was PBS. Positive Behavior Structure is a program that rewards good deeds more then telling the students what they are doing wrong. The whole point is to praise students and hope that other students will want to achieve that praise as well. We try to accomplish this by C-Notes. We hand these out to students for good deeds and then they can redeem them at a store for privileges and small items like pencils, notebooks, and other things.
The school environment was very inviting and warm. I felt so welcomed when i started at the school it was a great way to start my teaching currier.
